The quiet death of the AI copilot tab

The first wave of copilots lived in a side panel you had to remember to use. Adoption curves told the story: a spike at launch, then a slow fade as the novelty wore off.

The survivors did the opposite of demand attention — they removed steps. The draft is already written when you arrive. The anomaly is already flagged. The summary is already in the thread.

Signal: if your AI feature has its own button, it's at risk. The goal is fewer clicks, not a new surface.
