KYC & Identity
Identity verification becomes continuous, not one-time
Today: identity is verified once at onboarding, then largely assumed valid forever, even as fraud techniques evolve.
The next five years: verification becomes continuous and risk-based — re-checked when behavior shifts — partly because generative tools make one-time document checks easier to spoof.
The AI relation: the same models that enable convincing synthetic identities force defenders to verify continuously and adaptively. Static KYC becomes a liability.
Signal: identity is moving from a one-time gate to an ongoing signal. Onboarding-only verification won't survive the deepfake era.
